2008 in review

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before? Enetered a pickle contest, snowtubed, new profession, got fired

2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I improved enough to be satisfied
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? My great friend Krista

4. Did anyone close to you die? no but my friend had some difficult losses

5. What places did you visit? South Carolina, North Carolina! Went snow tubing for the first time and that was sweet

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? A fatter paycheck, I love what I am doing I am just not sure it pays all the bills. The great thing about recruiting is I may just get the phat paycheck from here, all we need are applicants

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Septemeber 28 my anniversary was a great time
August 18th Delyana's first Day of Kindergarten, first day at a new school, first day in the gifted program.

8. What was your biggest achievement(s) of the year? I don't know how to answer this. Maybe just holding it together, keeping De happy. Oh wait, yes, I got De a personal assistant, someone to braille her assignments and help her in all of her courses. HI five

9. What was your biggest failure? I don't want to list them. Ok bigg-est. ok Losing my job at DME, my high paying high profile carreer. I really thought I would work there forever, how naive. The series of unfortunate events that followed was devastating, truly.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I have something that I am not treating but I dont think it will kill me.

11. What was the best thing you bought? PS3! Blue Ray on the big screen baby. Plus it means we have PS2 in the living room and that means Singstar karaoke is available in my living room for all you tone def singers out there. I like my DS too, new washing machine, woo hoo stuff

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Delayna's! she scored 5th grade on her reading comprehension assesment(she is 5). Oh and as of just recently maybe my Mom, she seems to be trying.


13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Mine and at one point Ron's, it was just a bad year and he didn't react the way I predicted he would and I felt let down.

14. Where did most of your money go? generally, Bills. damage control

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Going to SC to see Russell! And the Pickle eating contest!

16. What song will always remind you of 2008? OVER MY HEAD-THE FRAY

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) Happier or sadder? Sadder
b) thinner or fatter? Fatter. or the same
c) richer or poorer? Poorer and not just financially, ugh sigh

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Play Barbies. Oh I wish we would have gone to the springs too. I love the springwater


19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Pout, regret, fear, judge, cry, ache, lie, question, mourn, assume,
20. How did you spend Christmas last year? At the Chinese buffet like any good Jew

24. What did you do for your birthday in 2008? out drinking with my cousin

27. What did you want and get? Singstar! A new job!

28. What did you want and not get? my old job back, a job that pays 40 a year

29. What was your favorite film of this year? i rarely get to see movies, i rented Apocalypto and holy cow was that good. i liked a Night in Bruges

30. Did you make some new friends this year? made some and lost some

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? If my pay would not have been cut in half

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? hippie chick meats wal mart Mom

33. What kept you sane? just me, maybe Ash and Amanda

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Barack Obama, he makes me feel hopful

35. What political issue stirred you the most? Sarah Palins antics were like a car crash, you watch and you don't know why. you dont know if you want to see if everyone is ok or will seeing a fatality make a better story


36. Who did you miss? Russell Air Susan many folks

37. Who was the best new person you met? Trish my boss perhaps

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008. I identify with my role at work more than my role as a friend, wife, or mother and that needs to change. I should not measure my worth that way when my accomplishements are many.
